About
Welcome to Hornsby North Community Before and Afterschool Care
Hello, I am “Kaila” the Centre Director and I extend a warm welcome to you and your family to our Out of School Hours Service that provides Centre Based care for children 4-12 years for Before School (BSC) and After School (ASC) during term time. We also provide care during school holiday periods (VAC) and Pupil Free Days (PFD).
A little about myself, I have been an Educator at the Centre since 2013. Continuing my child care career for more than a decade. I have completed tertiary qualifications in School-Aged Education and Care and maintain the professional qualifications required to support the highest industry standard. In my spare time, I play soccer.
I foster teamwork and expanded education for staff and encourage the engagement of families to ensure the best support for children in our care. Feel free to contact me.
Our philosophy is expanded below along with an introduction to our team members that work hard to make our centre a place for your child to enjoy.
"Our Purpose is to create a safe and caring environment where children can freely choose amongst the programmed activities."

In relation to Educators and management we strive to provide a high standard of quality care through professional practice and attitude whilst adhering to our duty of care. We aim to provide an atmosphere of trust and respect through open communications, respecting different points of view and maintaining confidentiality.
Educators will abide by Policies and Procedures, AECA Code of Ethics, UN Conventions of the Rights of the Child and the National Quality Areas (NQF). The Centre and The Team
Our Team
HNCC holds a ratio of children to staff at both Before and After School Care of 1:15. There is also a maximum of 8:1 for excursions. At times, there will be at least one staff member who holds a current Senior First Aid Certificate. The Centre also has allocated one staff member assigned as the First Aid Officer who is responsible for the management of all serious injuries and the management for First Aid Supplies.
All HNCC Educators have an approved Working with Children Check. All Educators are required to complete Child Protection training regularly to ensure the safety of the children is maintained as paramount at all times. While all Permanent Educators are First Aid Trained.
HNCC places a significant value on ensuring that our Permanent Educators of all levels are trained beyond this expectation, and thereby the Centre engages the Permanent Team in other additional training regimes. Additional Training that HNCCA offers to our Permanent Educators includes education in areas of administration, staff management, educational programming, and practice creating sustainable environments and more.
For Educators who are interested in creating depth in their work with the Centre, we encourage our Educators to engage in attaining their Certificate IV in School-Aged Education and Care.
